It operates through following segments: Network and Security Solutions (NSS), Electrical and Electronic Solutions (EES), and Utility Power Solutions (UPS). The NSS segment focuses on the supply of products and customized supply chain solutions to customers in a range of industries including technology, finance, telecommunications service providers, transportation, education, government, healthcare, and retail. The EES segment deals with the supply of wire and cable, control, power and gear, lighting and electrical bulk products, and customized supply chain solutions to the commercial and industrial, and original equipment manufacturer markets. The UPS segment consists of the supply of electrical transmission and distribution products; power plant maintenance, repair, and operations supplies and smart-grid products; and materials management and procurement outsourcing for the power generation and electricity distribution industries. The company was founded in 1957 and is headquartered Glenview, IL.
